Routleys Bakery | Curried Scallop Pie

Pastry: perfection. The trademark Routleys’ soft-but-somehow-firm pastry in all its glory.

Meat: seafood. Lots of it. The gravy is a mild green curry, from what I could make of it. There were at least six scallops in my pie, which isn’t bad if you consider how much fish and chip shops usually charge for them. Understandably these scallops probably arrived in a frozen plastic bag. Nevertheless, this pie has a very unique, yet odd, flavour. I enjoyed it.

Overall Satisfaction: quite high, but not as high as other Routleys’ more traditional meat pies. Try this one if you like experimenting with your food.

Grading: B+
